Rule 1: MOVE
Movement is the key to burning calories.
Do yoga, walk, run, dance, swim, hike, bike, stairs, pilates, kickboxing, strength training ect. You can also simply focus on moving around more. Things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or parking the car 50 feet further away from a restaurant will help. Wash some clothes by hand in the tub, clean the house, by doing more around the house you can find ways to burn more calories. Anyone who has lost the remote for the television will testify that all the up and down to change channels is a real workout. Try losing the remote on purpose.
Rule 2: EAT
Natural foods are willing to help you so let them.
There is no law against having a vegetarian meal of rice and beans that will supply your body with all the protein it needs. Generally speaking, a vegetable heavy diet will not only help one keep off the unwanted weight, but it could help you live longer! According to Ceders-Sinai Medical Center’s Cancer Prevention Nutritional Guidelines, “five daily servings of vegetables and fruits combined could prevent as many as 20 percent of all cancers.”
One way to think about eating is that the more packaging it comes in the worse it is for you. Eat foods that come with their own skin to win.
Rule 3: SLEEP
Rest is the best.
Your body needs to rest in order to heal, maintain health and yes, lose weight. According to Sanjay Patel, M.D., who was a lead researcher in a study presented at the American Thoracic Society, there is a direct connection between sleep and overall weight. In 16 year study women who slept for just “5 hours per night were 32% more likely to experience major weight gain.” And by major weight gain they mean 33 lbs or more.
So you will lose weight by getting more sleep!
