Prana – Life is energy and breath, inhale fully. Vinyasa- life is cycles of waves, move like water. Yoga – Life is a unified field, relax into oneness. Shiva teaches prana vinyasa flow yoga. We, like our planet are made up of 70% water. Water is the conductor of prana- life energy, nutrients, vibrations and subtle information. Shiva is known for her awareness of fluid movement and fluid power which is demonstrated in her teachings. Shiva Rea, M.A., is a leading teacher of transformational Prana Flow Yoga and Yoga Trance Dance™ Her studies in the Krishnamacharya lineage, Tantra, Ayurveda, Bhakti, Kalaripayattu, world dance, yogic art and somatic movement infuse her approach to living yoga and embodying the flow.
Duncan Wong is a master of yoga and other forms of healing arts, very well known in Japan and all over Asia. Duncan meshed the Zen aspect of martial arts and massage therapy, ultimately synthesizing these interconnected forms into one intrinsic flow that is “Yogic Arts”. Duncan created Yogic Arts which believes that each expansion and contraction of the breath, the yogic artist subsumes the ego into the cosmic wave within the ocean of bliss, merging with the greater Self. Duncan's teachings come from Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Kuk Sool Won, Siddha Yoga, Jivamukti Yoga, Thai-Shiatsu Therapy, Elite Life Training
Elinore Cohen is known for her biomechanics, alignment driven teachings. She is sought after for taking your practice to the next level- she helps give her students depth of pose, accessibility, and "flight" in arm balances. Elinore danced with several professional ballet companies, including The Joffrey Ballet. After several injuries from dance, she turned to yoga and completed 200- and 300-hour teacher training programs at YogaWorks. She’s developed two original programs: “Yoga for the Dancer,” a yoga rehabilitation program for current and former dancers, and “Gur Yoga,” a yoga program which utilizes a ball to stabilize and create integrity for injured muscles and joints. Her teachings blend Iyengar fundamentals with Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow.
Ms. Clark created a mesh of these three styles that she finds to be extremely powerful. Creating strength in the total body as well as openness with a focus on hip opening and core strengthening with detailed alignment verbiage. There is a focus with shoulder opening and building awareness of poses while keeping her gurus teachings as her foundation .
April Clark also has a personalized approach to Pilates. Her Pilates class is a weave of classic Pilates and yoga presented in a very descriptive and informative way. Over time the participants’ awareness of their own bodies expand by connecting breath and core awareness. Combining therapeutic yoga poses with Pilates allows a level of relaxation with toning of the smaller muscles of the body that naturally engage the larger muscles. Moving the torso upwards allows the core to support you correctly improving body alignment and developing your deep structural supporting muscles. Creating a longer body that can move with ease and grace.
She believes that you will return to your daily life standing and sitting a little taller and over time the structure of your body and your awareness will improve. The participant will find them selves walking with a lifted heart while breathing deeper and looking better.
She encourages her students to share and communicate their needs to so that she can adjust to teach specifically for the participants. She considers herself to be a fun person and that translates in class.
